Katsucon 2023 Schedule

Been super busy with a lot of different things but with Katsu basically upon us my panels for the con:

Katsu 2023 Cosplay lineup

Characters: Techwear Kaeya (inspired by fanart by skyviu_ on IG/Genshin Impact), a “spicier” version of Pantalone (Genshin Impact), Tenjiku arc Kisaki Tetta (Tokyo Revengers), 3rd Ascension Izou Okada (Fate/Grand Order), & Punk Rock themed Chompette (fanart mostly to be a placeholder).

Anyway, still have a lot to do for the con. Fortunately most of it isn’t cosplay work; granted, everything else I’m working on is infinitely more tedious 🙃😵

Overdue Momocon 2022 Info

Meant to do this way sooner but in a permanent “running around like a chicken with its head cut off” state 😩

To keep it short, had these panels at the con:

Overall, pretty good turnout for both panels. Fun time cosplaying. Enjoyed the whole con overall but since I’m (a) going to AX this year to assist a friend w/ their booth, (b) got product from one of my AA friends to use for my own side gig products, & (c) I have a side gig now & am prepping stuff both for my online shop & my AA table, kinda been ungodly busy 🥴

Currently working on getting my Portfolio as complete as possible so I can start submitting to cons myself vs relying on my friend to submit for both of us. Also, lots to do for my new business in general so it’s eating up all my time (besides my actual job 😅

In short, new business is resin related, specifically UV resin, & an overwhelming majority of the things I make involve resin in some way, shape, or form. If you’re interested, can check out my IG at date_does_resin & my site is dmpresinworks.myshopify.com.

All that said, going right back to the artist/small business grind & cranking out content for my portfolio & getting the page setup.

Inb4 “how could you go to this con?!” The COVID policy is pretty tight & I’ll be taking every precaution to stay as safe as possible. At this point, it’s completely understandable when people avoid going to cons or go & are as safe as possible while they’re there but it’s absolutely ridiculous to guilt trip &/or shame people who decide one way or the other, typically if they decide to go.

For whatever reason (more than likely somebody supremely salty they can’t go due to the COVID policy getting stricter), a good amount of people are shaming those who decide to go this year which I find super perplexing because I didn’t see this same energy with MAGfest, HolMat, Ichibancon, or any other con that occurred during the last few months but Katsu’s an ‘acceptable target’ I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

Small rant aside (find the unbelievable hypocrisy more amusing than anything else), see you if you’re going ^.^

New Bakumatsu Rock Cosplay 🤔

Help me decide what BR cosplay I should do~

As some more backstory, cosplayed Hijikata from this back in 2015 & always wanted to do another cosplay (not saying which character) & due to having a lot of time to work on any & all cosplays due to pandemic craziness & another late night chat I decided it’s time for another 😅😎👌🏾

Also, if you’re looking at the names & are like, “Hmmm, those look familiar,” it’s another one of those historical fiction anime that goes completely in the WTF?! direction 😅👌🏾 If u like hot dudes having their clothes explode off while they sing, def give it a watch or hunt down a copy of an import of the PSP game(s) 😏

Panels Submitted (& Other Things)~

Finished submitting panels for the following cons:

Also, have panels accepted for Anime Boston & Momocon, but still waiting to hear back on the others waitlisted before I post specifics for AB & currently having a scheduling snafu addressed for Momocon panels (had 2 scheduled at the same time). Otherwise, have 1 confirmed for AB & 3 for Momocon so far.

Besides that, cosplay line up for Zenkaikon. Since I staff it now I’m not worrying about doing panels but focusing almost solely on staffing duties (& some cosplay shenanigans):

Finally done, updated all the relevant pages so everything’s current~~!

Cosplays/Cons, New Cosplays per Year, Links, Panel Resources, Panel Descriptions, Previous Panels/Cons, & Schedule all updated.  Also, established a new system for disseminating panel resources: from now on I’m storing all relevant files in a public Dropbox folder to make it easier to upload everything & reduce the likelihood of me completely dropping off uploading files.

Besides this, going to get back into regularly posting updates & will have another post relatively soon going over the latest panels/cons that will becoming up, just waiting on some kinks to get ironed out in scheduling.

Anyway, now that I’m done with this I can cross this off my list & resume submitting panels to both AWA & Otakon.

ANYC 2018 Cosplay Line Up

Had to trim it back my line up since I’ll be carpooling there w/ 3 other friends so I need to cut back as much as possible, esp. w/ prop heavy cosplays. That & the fact I’m probably not gonna feel like walking/Lyfting back+forth to my hotel that frequently to costume change.

Anyway, can’t wait to go & see some of my friends there next week…’cause that means post ANYC I can actually relax for a bit from all the con going 🙃😅

Lastly, to be perfectly honest, Travis is the main costume debut for this con but on the other hand everything is mostly new, esp the surprise cosplay, sooooo guess u can consider the cosplay theme “DEBUT ALL THE THINGS!!“…fun times 😅😅😅
