Katsucon 2023 Schedule

Been super busy with a lot of different things but with Katsu basically upon us my panels for the con:

Katsu 2023 Cosplay lineup

Characters: Techwear Kaeya (inspired by fanart by skyviu_ on IG/Genshin Impact), a “spicier” version of Pantalone (Genshin Impact), Tenjiku arc Kisaki Tetta (Tokyo Revengers), 3rd Ascension Izou Okada (Fate/Grand Order), & Punk Rock themed Chompette (fanart mostly to be a placeholder).

Anyway, still have a lot to do for the con. Fortunately most of it isn’t cosplay work; granted, everything else I’m working on is infinitely more tedious 🙃😵

Nekocon 2022 Update

Been a bit but just wanted to make a quick post that if you attended either of my panels at this past Neko I’ll be posting any necessary resources by Monday next week.

In general, haven’t posted in a while due to being super busy/preoccupied getting my business up & running & getting things together for various artist alleys but the panels I had this past Neko were:

Inb4 “how could you go to this con?!” The COVID policy is pretty tight & I’ll be taking every precaution to stay as safe as possible. At this point, it’s completely understandable when people avoid going to cons or go & are as safe as possible while they’re there but it’s absolutely ridiculous to guilt trip &/or shame people who decide one way or the other, typically if they decide to go.

For whatever reason (more than likely somebody supremely salty they can’t go due to the COVID policy getting stricter), a good amount of people are shaming those who decide to go this year which I find super perplexing because I didn’t see this same energy with MAGfest, HolMat, Ichibancon, or any other con that occurred during the last few months but Katsu’s an ‘acceptable target’ I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

Small rant aside (find the unbelievable hypocrisy more amusing than anything else), see you if you’re going ^.^

MAGfest Panel

Against all odds got a panel for MAGfest…& thank Chrysler because that means I don’t have to pay that laughable badge price 😬🙄

Sit Down, STFU, & Play This J-RPG (Deluxe Edition): Sun.,12-1:30pm in Panels 4

First time I got a panel for Sunday of the con which incidentally means I can enjoy most of the con before I have to bunker down to give a panel. Tbh, preferable over a Thursday night panel time (which I usually get if I get anything) as it means I won’t have to rush back after work to get there then screw off back home since I never take off for this con.

Lastly, for those not in the know:

1. MAGfest is the only con I attend that gives me any pushback on accepting panels from me. Not the end of the world but I have multiple bigger cons that accept panels from me on the regular which makes this one stand out (obviously in a not positive way).
2. Their base badge price for this year (2022) is $110 which is a significant increase from the previous year. Not to mention no group rates, they’re not giving u “more bang for your buck”, nothing. Katsucon, which is in the same venue & bigger than MAGfest, hasn’t increased its badge price, so it makes it look even more suspect, especially when considering out of 20+ cons I keep tabs on/attend literally Mag is the only one to have such a dramatic increase.

Mentioning these things to explain my tone. I give 0 craps if you agree or not. This is just cold hard facts & I find it laughable some of the Mag zealots get so pissy when you mention this.

Nekocon 2021 Panels

Like…I could say none of these need a decent amount of work to update but that only really applies to the Violence one since I’m mostly just showing vid clips (which I already have plenty of) DX Both of the ‘Diamonds…’ ones I can theoretically leave largely the same & swap around the slides but the Figures one I definitely will need to update fairly heavily ~.~

Oh well, none of the updates should take a lot of time & I can work on them throughout the week once I get back from work.

Of course, jury’s still out if it’s still happening. It’s way later in the year so I’m more hopeful…but looking at how sh*t a myriad of things are in dealing with quarantine efforts & decreasing the spread of the virus in the States who knows 🤷🏿‍♀️😩

Otherwise, have 1 confirmed for AB & 3 for Momocon so far.

Besides that, cosplay line up for Zenkaikon. Since I staff it now I’m not worrying about doing panels but focusing almost solely on staffing duties (& some cosplay shenanigans):

Join dj Date Masamune as she recounts some of the wildest yandere characters she’s encountered in all her anime endeavors.

Yurei, Yokai, & School Girls

Sunday, 1-2pm Panel 4

This panel will take a look at Japanese myth & lure shown in various anime as well as list the various types of yurei, yokai, & oni that tend to pop up.
